Its very easy to damage wood and this can even happen on vinyl, stucco, concrete & most other surfaces if the person operating the power washer does not know what they are doing.
Below is a sidewalk that has been blasted with a high pressure washer, the wrong nozzle and without a cleaning solution. See the lines?

Got to my in-laws yesterday in Northfield. The house looks great! Especially the concrete area around the front door and the driveway in front of the garage. The roof and siding also look a whole lot better without the green growth, spider webs and other stains.
